It’s that time of year again! We are hopping on a plane and heading to Las Vegas to join 10,000+ professionals from the architecture, design, manufacturing, and media industries for 3 days of learning sessions, networking, and inspiration. Autodesk University will take place at the Venetian in Las Vegas on November 14-16, 2017. Now in its 25th year, Autodesk University (AU) has expanded from what was once an Autodesk software user conference, to a series of events held around the globe. AU is a great opportunity for professionals to learn from Autodesk and industry experts, as well as share tips on using and getting the most out of the Autodesk software.
This year, presenters from our team of experts include Donnie Gladfelter, Jason Kunkle, and Purvi Gandhi Irwin. Their sessions are as follows:
A Match Made in Coordinates: Bringing Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and InfraWorks Together at Last
Donnie Gladfelter, Technical Product & Online Manager & Purvi Gandhi Irwin, AIA Senior Applications Specialist
Tuesday, November 14 | 60 Minutes Instructional Demo
Coordinating Revit software and AutoCAD Civil 3D software doesn’t have to require a degree in nuclear physics! Co-presented by a Revit and an AutoCAD Civil 3D specialist, attendees of this session will gain an understanding of the expectations for each platform, and learn how to configure them. With coordinated model locations in place, Donnie and Purvi will define effective practices for exchanging data between Revit software and AutoCAD Civil 3D software. Attendees will learn how to assemble a project in the context of its surroundings using InfraWorks software, and how to generate a virtual reality scene.
Overcoming the 7 Deadly Sins of Corporate Training Programs
Donnie Gladfelter, Technical Product & Online Manager & Jason Kunkel, AEC Manager
Wednesday, November 15 | 60 Minutes Industry Talk
This session will focus on overcoming the 7 deadly sins of training, and putting your program on a righteous path. We’ll explore the process of defining education mission statements, aligning curriculum with student learning styles, and reinforcing learning at every corner through specific methods. Attendees will benefit from the unique experience and knowledge shared by 2 instructors who have built successful training programs in firms of more than 350 people, designed Autodesk Official Press curriculum, and continue to build training programs for firms across the nation today.
