There’s a recent release for the Model Checker, COBie Extension, and Classification Manager for Revit. It’s one of those updates that’s easy to write and sum up, but it took a lot of heavy lifting on the back end, and we certainly hope you find it all useful.

New Languages Supported

Revit is an international tool, and many of the classifications and certainly the use of COBie is global. With that, this version of the tools is adding some new language support. If you run Revit in French, Spanish, or Russian, the BIM Interoperability Tools have been translated into those languages and you will see the UI with your language in use.

Many of the supporting files are still English only, and helpdesk support is English only, but this is an exciting first step to hopefully make these great add-ins easier for more people to use.

COBie Tweak in System Naming

There’s a small addition to the Systems Name Builder – you can now select System Type as one of your options.

Updated Classification Manager Databases

The databases (Excel files) that are the heart of the Classification Manager have gotten cleaned up and split up. This should keep your model cleaner with fewer unused parameters and make it easier to know what classification system you are loading up.

Bug Fixes

A couple of bug fixes are thrown in there as well (because it wouldn’t be software without bug fixes):

  • The category filter for the Classification Manager has been fixed
  • A bug related to units and localization in Model Checker has been fixed
  • Unchecking the Header in a checkset in Model Checker will now keep all checks under it from running

How To Get the Update

You can grab the update on the BIM Interoperability Tools website, through the Autodesk Desktop App, or by visiting manage.autodesk.com and downloading the installers from there.
