With a history that spans drafting, electrical design, fire alarm design, and training and education, Daron brings 20+ years of experience to his clients at CADD Microsystems.
With a background in designing, drafting, and teaching, Daron is particularly knowledgeable in the use of AutoCAD for the development of architectural, MEP, facilities management, and general design documentation. In his current role, he designs and delivers standard and custom training for AutoCAD users. His experience comes from various design projects in which he created construction documents, documented and cataloged electrical equipment, completed fire alarm design, and designed cellular antennas to blend into surrounding environments.
Kelli is the Marketing Manager at CADD Microsystems. She graduated from Marshall University with a Master’s degree in Journalism and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. She has several years of experience as a Marketing and Public Relations Manager and is a member of the CADD Microsystems team in Richmond, Va.
With years of experience in building information modeling (BIM) and CAD, Chris consults directly with CADD Microsystems’ clients to help AEC professionals reach their goals through the use of Autodesk technology, by developing and delivering training and consulting services.
When Chris isn't busy BIMing it up, he enjoys all things geeky. Armed with his bow-tie collection, he treks through the streets of the District, speaking to anyone who would listen about the history of that building that no one really cares about.
Jason is the Senior Practice Manager for Architecture and Engineering at CADD Microsystems where he heads up a team of like-minded individuals who are passionate about design and technology and making them work together. He has worked both in front of and behind the monitor in the AEC industry for over 20 years beginning his career as an architectural designer, but quickly discovering a passion and knack for technology. He migrated to the IT support world, applying that passion to help architects and engineers leverage technology in new and exciting ways, and save time in the process. He is one of the founders of RevitRVA, a Revit user group in the central Virginia area, and has a wide array of knowledge and experience with both software and hardware to help companies improve their processes and work more effectively.
Purvi is the Practice Manager for Architecture, where she supports the integration of software and technology in the building trades. Previously, she was a preservation project architect, where she specialized in using innovative technology to facilitate the documentation and rehabilitation of institutional buildings. Purvi has 15 years of experience in the architecture industry and 10+ years of Revit experience working with existing buildings (most of them also historic), and she has used Revit from conceptual design, through construction administration and project close-out. She has a Bachelors of Architecture from The Cooper Union and a MS in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania. Purvi is currently a member of the Alexandria Board of Architectural Review in Alexandria, VA, and a member of the Association for Preservation Technology International Technical Committee on Documentation. She also sits on the Advisory Board for the RevitDC Usergroup.
Marissa is the Practice Manager for Civil and Infrastructure at CADD Microsystems. Marissa graduated from Virginia Tech with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering. She has been working with Autodesk products for almost 20 years, specializing in the Civil and GIS solutions. She has worked for a number of reputable civil firms in Virginia providing CAD support to transportation, utility, land development, mapping, and GIS projects. At CADD Microsystems, Marissa's responsibilities include managing the Civil Team, performing product demonstrations, teaching classes, giving seminars and workshops, and performing consulting for many Autodesk products such as Civil 3D, Land Desktop, Map 3D and Raster Design.
Allen works with architecture and structural engineering firms to provide software solutions designed to achieve their business goals. He consults with clients on the selection, installation, implementation and best practices for Autodesk Collections, Revit and AutoCAD applications.
He puts his 20+ years of industry experience to use as an instructor of Revit and AutoCAD for CADD Microsystems' award-winning training program. The knowledge he gained from his years as a CAD manager enables him to uncover the various ways in which people learn and use software, and to develop training methodologies to match. He also consults with architecture and engineering clients around workflow, installation and implementation.
Nick Sipes has spent a decade working in the design and construction industry, always with one toe in the technology pool. For seven years, he worked for a major global architecture firm in their interior design group where he specialized on corporate offices and government facilities. While there, he led the BIM implementation for their interior design department and worked hard to create companywide consistency by developing standards for the entire firm. Following his efforts there, he transitioned to a small Maryland architecture firm where he became their BIM champion by working hard to migrate them from AutoCAD to Revit.
Once realizing that the water felt fine, Nick dove into the technical side of the pool by becoming an Applications Specialist at CADD Microsystems, where he currently works. Nick focuses on Revit and BIM related workflows for large and small groups, and teaches Revit Architecture out CADD’s certified training facilities.
Nick is a Revit Architecture Certified Professional, LEED ID+C accredited professional, Maryland Licensed Interior Designer, NCIDQ holder, and IIDA member.
As an expert and thought leader in the AEC industry around BIM (Building Information Modeling) and FM (Facilities Management), T.J. assists architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners with successfully implementing efficient workflows with regards to design, build, and operate. After receiving his architectural degree, T.J. began his career by working in several architectural firms across the U.S. where he gained experience on both commercial and residential projects. Transitioning from the design-side of the industry, he has now become a recognized expert on the technology-side, working for one of the nation's most successful Autodesk Partners as their Vice President of Technology Solutions..……He is a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. He has been known to remodel train stations on his lunch break. He has translated ancient Sanskrit, written award-winning operas, and can manage time efficiently. He can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed and cook Thirty-Minute Brownies in only twenty minutes. He is an expert in stucco, a veteran in love, and an outlaw in Peru. He plays bluegrass cello, was scouted by the Mets, and is the subject of numerous documentaries. Children trust him and the laws of physics do not apply to him. He balances, he weaves, he dodges, and all his bills are paid. He has played Hamlet at the Kennedy Center, performed open-heart surgery, and spoken with Elvis…… He is an Autodesk Implementation Certified Expert (ICE) and a veteran presenter at many industry events, including Autodesk University. A registered architect and LEED accredited professional, T.J. leverages his skills and experience to help clients successfully implement Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Facilities Management (FM) solutions and workflows
Jessica has worked in the AEC industry for 17+ years. Her industry experience and knowledge makes her a valuable resource to her customers. Jessica is customer-centric and enjoys connecting like-minded companies. If she is not at work you can find her at CrossFit, or relaxing on her porch with her family.
With analytical skills that can only come from 19 years of industry/technology work experience, Mike empowers architecture, MEP, BIM and construction clients to uncover new ways to best approach their technical challenges. In his role as senior applications specialist, Mike provides tailored solutions to clients that feature powerful design automation products coupled with customized consulting services. His software portfolio includes expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks and BIM 360 products. Before joining CADD Microsystems, Mike spent five years as a project architect for WDG Architecture, learning the ins and outs of the industry for a range of projects—from commercial to higher education. Prior to his role at WDG, Mike held a variety of positions with esteemed firms such as HNTB, Dewberry and Davis, and ACG Architects.
