ABOUT THE CHEF, NATASCHA "TAZ" BOWLES

Chef Natascha "Taz" Bowles is very proud of her multi-racial and cultural background having a German Jewish mother and a Caribbean father. Being raised by a single parent, home life was wherever her mother could get a job, as homelessness became second nature to the mother-daughter duo. Fortunately for Taz and her mother, a community of diverse friends along the way embraced the pair as family into their households.

It was within these many walks of life (Korean, Hispanic, Anglo & African American) that Chef Taz found her comfort and her love for family and food. Chef Taz graduated from the Culinary program at J. Sgt. Reynolds in Richmond, VA and has taken advanced professional studies courses at the Culinary Institute of America. To further enhance her culinary training, Taz cooked in multiple kitchens all over Europe, including Spain, Germany, and France. She has worked at the historical Jefferson Hotel alongside some of Richmond’s most talented chefs, including Chef Walter Bundy at Lemaire and Chef Chris McCandless at TJ’s.

The CADD Foundation helps fight hunger in Ukraine

With so many people around the world facing food shortages, The CADD Foundation is continuing its work to battle hunger in 2022. Our first donation of the year will be in the amount of $2200 and will go to World Central Kitchen (WCK) to help provide critical food assistance to the citizens of Ukraine.

Watch a quick video here to learn more about WCK and how they are helping in Ukraine.

Join us in the mission to fight hunger! We’ve created a fundraising page and invite you to make a contribution to WCK or share this information with friends and family. By donating, you will be providing meals for refugees that have either fled or remain in the country.

Looking for additional organizations to support? Here's other ways you can help Ukraine:

  • Catholic Relief Services is on the ground across Ukraine and in bordering countries, providing safe shelter, hot meals, hygiene supplies, transport to safe areas, counseling support and more.
  • Unicef USA is on the ground helping Ukraine's children.
  • NPR provides a non-exhaustive list of organizations that are asking for assistance.

CADD Foundation Food Drive

Updated 10.15.21: The CADD Foundation is joining in the fight against childhood hunger this year. We just wrapped up our food drive that started in June and because of everyone's generosity, we were able to donate a total of $5,286.45 in food donations to Blessings in a Backpack. Schools are a significant source of food for needy children, so the summer can be a stressful time for families. We’re happy to be able to provide our support and continue to make an impact in the fight against hunger.
