ABOUT THE CHEF, NATASCHA "TAZ" BOWLES
Chef Natascha "Taz" Bowles is very proud of her multi-racial and cultural background having a German Jewish mother and a Caribbean father. Being raised by a single parent, home life was wherever her mother could get a job, as homelessness became second nature to the mother-daughter duo. Fortunately for Taz and her mother, a community of diverse friends along the way embraced the pair as family into their households.
It was within these many walks of life (Korean, Hispanic, Anglo & African American) that Chef Taz found her comfort and her love for family and food. Chef Taz graduated from the Culinary program at J. Sgt. Reynolds in Richmond, VA and has taken advanced professional studies courses at the Culinary Institute of America. To further enhance her culinary training, Taz cooked in multiple kitchens all over Europe, including Spain, Germany, and France. She has worked at the historical Jefferson Hotel alongside some of Richmond’s most talented chefs, including Chef Walter Bundy at Lemaire and Chef Chris McCandless at TJ’s.
