Getting Started in BIM Collaborate Pro with Quick Start

Customer Challenge

Noelker & Hull is an architectural design, master planning, and interior design firm with offices in Pennsylvania and Maryland. They wanted to begin using BIM Collaborate Pro as a solution to create more collaborative workflows within their firm and with clients and create a stronger remote work environment. After completing a trial with the software, they decided to move forward with subscribing to BIM Collaborate Pro, and needed assistance with admin setup and user implementation.

Project Goals

CADD Microsystems proposed a BIM Collaborate Pro Quick Start, which is a packaged offering with defined scope of work to ensure a successful configuration and application of a project on BIM Collaborate Pro. There are three main tasks during the Quick Start: initial project setup, group training, and additional team coaching.

Solution

The CADD Consultant began the first task by working with the primary and support admins. During this session, they set up their account and combined their current hub with the hub they created with the trial. They reviewed product features such as how to link files, how to use cloud tools, and how to use it with AutoCAD and Revit since they use both for their drawings. The CADD Consultant then worked with the admins to create an initial project which would be used as a template for future projects. This project included the correct folder structure and set of permissions required for their company.

The next task was a team training session to review features and company-specific workflows with all users. During this session, the CADD Consultant helped users navigate the platform, and how to use it to create an efficient workflow.

Once the team was up and running on BIM Collaborate Pro, the final task included open coaching sessions, where users and admins were able to ask specific questions, they encountered as they used the software for their projects. To accommodate the need of the clients, they completed two separate coaching sessions.

Business Outcome

After completing the BIM Collaborate Pro Quick Start, Noelker & Hull’s users were able to begin using BIM Collaborate Pro in their daily workflows. They have been using it with several Revit projects and will begin testing for AutoCAD projects. Using BIM Collaborate Pro has supported their effort in creating a stronger remote work environment, allowing employees and new hires to be in different regions and continue to work collaboratively.

Conclusion

By choosing to do the Quick Start, Noelker & Hull was able to expedite the adoption of BIM Collaborate Pro. Their users now understand and use the solution on a fundamental level, and look forward to continuing working with CADD Microsystems on additional assistance for advanced features within the platform.
