Lunchtime Learning: Revit for Existing Buildings and Renovations

Kelli MarakovitsJuly 27th, 2018

Are you interested in using Revit for existing buildings but hesitant because you’ve heard that Revit “doesn’t do that?” Maybe you have a bunch of CAD files already and you don’t think it will be cost-effective to turn those into a Revit model. Whatever your concerns may be, join us over lunch next week to learn more about how Revit can be used successfully with an existing building project. AIA|DC and CADD Microsystems are teaming up on Friday, Aug. 3 to bring you the Lunchtime Learning Session: Revit for Existing Buildings and Renovations.

The speaker, Purvi Gandhi Irwin, AIA, Applications Specialist for CADD Microsystems, has over 15 years of experience in architecture, 10 of them working for one of the country’s eminent Historic Preservation firms, and over 10 years of experience working on existing building projects in Revit. She will teach you the quirks of phasing, the most common pitfalls and how to avoid them, and ways that you can use existing documentation in conjunction with Revit to reap the benefits of the parametric nature of the software. You’ll leave the lecture with a newfound appreciation for the benefits that Revit can bring to all projects.
