Tech Tour is Coming to Town!

Justin FriedmanSeptember 23rd, 2015

CADD Microsystems will be hosting its famed semi-annual Tech Tour this October in Baltimore, MD, Arlington, VA, and Richmond, VA. For those who aren’t familiar with the Tech Tour, it is a free one day technology conference where attendees can learn about great new design technology tools, gain access to our experts, and network with industry peers – all while having a little fun on a full stomach.

This year’s theme is all about Collaboration. As you know, design projects aren’t done by one person. They involve multiple teams, companies, inputs and edits. With so many hands in the pot, collaboration between all parties is an absolute must. Our sessions this year are geared around promoting collaboration, streamlining workflows and utilizing your software technology efficiently.

CADD CEO, Jeff Gravatte, Keynoting at the Baltimore Tech Tour

Our Keynote speaker is our very own CEO, Jeff Gravatte, and he’ll kick off the event with his presentation on Emerging Industry Trends. Following our keynote session, attendees can choose between attending Markup and Collaborate with Bluebeam, and Masterplanning Design Concepts. In Markup and Collaborate with Bluebeam, Steve Jones will present how Bluebeam Revu’s intuitive tools and features can enhance your workflow efficiency and unify project teams. In Masterplanning Design Concepts, CADD Microsystems, Donnie Gladfleter, aka The CAD Geek, will show you how to develop immersive models in Autodesk Infraworks to communicate masterplanning proposals to stakeholders.

Building Modeling Best Practices and Transportation Planning & Design are our next set of sessions for the day. Attendees siting on the Building Modeling presentation by T.J. Meehan, CADD Microsystems, will learn numerous tips and tricks of the trade, guaranteed to save you time and keep your Revit models running smoothly. This session is great for all skill levels. Donnie Gladfelter’s presentation, Transportation Planning & Design, shows how to improve collaboration virtually anywhere with a seamless interaction between Infraworks 360 and Civil 3D. In this session, we’ll expand on the site creation tools in InfraWorks 360 and take a look at the transportation‐focused tools that bring added value to the Infrastructure Design Suite.

Our third and final sessions of the day are Collaborating with Project Teams & Revit, and Grounded Collaboration between Architects & Civil Engineers. Chris Lindo, CADD Microsystems, will show you how building project teams can connect with centralized access to BIM project data making it easier to access all project data during his Collaborating with Project Teams & Revit presentation. In his session, Grounded Collaboration between Architects and Engineers, Donnie Gladfelter will teach you how to not only bridge the gap between architects and engineers, but how to also define effective practices for exchanging data between Revit software and AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
