Top New Features in Revit 2026 - MEP

April 17th, 2025

A new version of Revit has been released. Revit 2026 brings new features and improvements to the MEP industry. Previous year’s releases lacked improvements for the Electrical industry. Revit 2026 offers several new tools focused on Electrical. Here are my top 3 tools for Electrical.

Electrical Conductors

Revit 2026 changes how wire types and sized are defined and used. Users are now able to manage circuit wiring requirements with controllable and customizable conductors and cable configurations that are defined in the Electrical Settings. Wire types and wire sizes are replaced with Cable Type and Cable Types. This enables users to set and modify the size of conductors, providing control to engineers and designers.

Browser Organization for Panel Schedules

The Project Browser now supports the ability to change the Browser Organization for Electrical Panel Schedules. In prior releases the panel schedules were simply listed alphabetically using the Panel Name. In Revit 2026 some parameters of Electrical Equipment are available for grouping, sorting, and filtering panel schedules using the Browser Organization. The panel schedule name is available for sorting. This feature will allow MEP users to be better organized and keep track of panel schedules.

Improvements to Spares and Spaces

In Revit 2026, electrical spares and spaces have been enhanced. Users can now modify the name of Spares and Spaces and use Circuit Naming Schemes using project parameters or shared parameters. Spares and spaces are also now included in Circuit Schedules. Spares now have an Edit Circuit option, allowing connections to be added. The improvements to spares and spaces will lead to increased efficiency and consistency.
